Teenager admits supplying Class A drug that killed 15-year-old Shakira Pellow in Camborne
A teenager has admitted supplying the Class A drugs which led to the death of a 15-year-old from Camborne in July 2018.
Joshua Fletcher-Ward, 18, appeared at Truro Crown Court today (Friday 1 November) and pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug (MDMA) to 15-year-old Shakira.
He also pleaded guilty to supplying a Class A drug to another male.
Shakira Pellow collapsed in Pengegon Park after taking the drug on 6 July and died in hospital the following day.
Three other teenagers were also taken to hospital and later recovered.
Fletcher-Ward, from St Day, arrived at court in a wheelchair after an accident which meant the case originally had to be delayed.
He appeared alongside a co-accused, 18-year-old Oakley Willoughby, who has previously pleaded not guilty to possession with intent to supply a Class A drug regarding the incident.
Willoughby will stand trial in February and Fletcher-Ward will be sentenced at the end of that trial. He has been bailed until then.
