Memorial of Camborne teen who died from taking MDMA repeatedly vandalised
The mother of a 15-year-old girl from Camborne who died after taking MDMA is "heart-broken" that her daughter's memorial has been repeatedly vandalised.
Rita Hole said flowers and candles left in memory of Shakira Pellow have been stolen or destroyed, including mementos left by family members.
She visits the memorial in Camborne park several times a week to remember her daughter.
The 15-year-old died last summer after taking an ecstasy drug, known as MDMA, with a group of friends in a nearby park.
Following her death two 17-year-old men were arrested and later released under investigation.
A memorial was unveiled by the family at a special vigil on 5 November - what would have been Shakira's 16th birthday.
Rita said the memorial has been continuously vandalised. She said: "It totally destroys me, it destroys Shakira's memory for one, and the love that I have for Shakira, she never hurt anybody."
Roses that Rita left for her daughter on Valentine's Day were found scattered on the floor and a Christmas tribute left for her was missing the next day.
Devon and Cornwall Police has described the thefts as extremely distressing and callous acts .
They are currently investigating and appealing for anyone one who knows more to come forward.
