Built in 1979, the structure has dominated the Teesside coastline since. When it was in operation, it was the second largest of its kind in Europe.

Work will begin on 2 August. It is expected more than 1,000 workers will be on-site over the next 12 months to carry out the demolition.

For years it's been a derelict memorial to our region's industrial heritage, but the building in Redcar could be the centre of an industrial redevelopment.
