Voting lines open for CI Sports Personality of the Year 2019

Voting lines are now open for Betway Channel Islands Sports Personality of the Year 2019 with four local stars vying for the public's support.

Guernsey athlete Cameron Chalmers, Guernsey footballer Maya Le Tissier, Jersey shooter Cameron Pirouet, and Jersey swimmer Harry Shalmon make up the shortlist for the prestigious prize.

Chalmers is in the running for a third time following nominations in 2016 and 2017, while Le Tissier is a former Rising Star winner.

Shalamon and Pirouet have both earned their first nominations for their achievements in 2019, with the latter the first shooter to be shortlisted in the 18 years of the awards.

Betway CI Sports Personality of the Year is the only one of the four categories to be decided by public vote, with the others judged by an expert panel.

The winner - who will follow in the footsteps of Jersey netball star Serena Guthrie - will be crowned in one of two live programmes from the awards, which take place at Beau Sejour on Thursday 30 January.
