CI Sports Awards 2019: Cameron Chalmers

Guernsey 400m star Cameron Chalmers is back in contention for this award for the third time after claiming his maiden British title in 2019, with victory indoors in Birmingham.

The 22-year-old followed that up by taking silver at the European U23 Championships and went on to represent Great Britain at the World Athletics Championships in Doha.

His best time of 2019 was just shy of his personal best, set in 2017, but it was a year which saw the former Island Games gold medallist assert himself on the senior stage and move a step closer to fulfilling his Olympic dream.
