CISPOTY 2018: Winners revealed for Betway CI Sports Awards

  • Betway CI Sports Personality of the Year:

Jersey netballer Serena Guthrie has won the Betway CI Sports Personality of the Year 2018.

Serena beat bowls player Lucy Beere, rugby player Michael Le Bourgeois, bowls player Alison Merrien and boxer Bradley Watson.

  • PraxisIFM Rising Star:

Jersey surfer Will Masterman has won the PraxisIFM Rising Star Award in the Channel Islands Sports Awards 2018.

He saw off the competition from the likes of Guernsey cyclist Sam Culverwell, Jersey swimmer Isaac Dodds and Jersey athlete Grace Greenwood.

  • Source Recruitment Coach of the Year:

Jersey Tigers Swimmers Coach Nathan Jegou has won the Source Recruitment Coach of the Year award.

Nathan beat Guernsey Triathlon Amy Critchlow, Alderney Football’s Josh Concanen, Guernsey Raiders’ Jordan Reynolds and Jersey’s Victoria College Prep’s Ben Silva to the title.

  • Blue Islands Team of the Year:

Guernsey Raiders have won Blue Islands’ Team of the Year 2018.

The men’s side have had their best ever season, beating off Alderney FC, Calligo Tigers Swimming and Guernsey Athletics’ Women’s Road Race team for the award.

  • Judges’ Award:

Jersey’s Victoria College Prep have won the Judges’ Award 2018.

They made history by becoming the first side to win the Danone Nations Cup England School Teams competition two years in a row.
