Shortlists announced for Betway Channel Islands Sports Awards 2019
The shortlists have been announced for this year’s Betway Channel Islands Sports Awards with an athlete, footballer, shooter, and swimmer up for the prestigious top prize - CI Sports Personality of the Year 2019.
Thirteen other nominees are also in contention to be named PraxisIFM Rising Star, Blue Islands Team of the Year, and Source Recruitment Coach of the Year - which will all be decided by a panel of judges.
The main award recipient - who will follow in the footsteps of 2018 winner Serena Guthrie - will be crowned following a public phone vote culminating on the night itself.
They will collect the award from Welsh rugby legend Scott Quinnell who is the special guest for this year's televised ceremony, which is being held at Beau Sejour in Guernsey on Thursday 30 January.

Cameron Chalmers (Athletics, Guernsey)
The Guernsey athlete won his first British title in 2019 and represented Great Britain at the IAAF World Championships in Doha.
Maya Le Tissier (Football, Guernsey)
The Guernsey footballer has established herself in Brighton’s Women’s Super League squad last year and captained England at the Under-17 European Championships.
Cameron Pirouet (Shooting, Jersey)
The Jersey & GB shooter swept the board at the 2019 Island Games in Gibraltar, winning five gold medals in five new Games records.
Harry Shalamon (Swimming, Jersey)
The Jersey swimmer starred at the Island Games, setting the standard with seven golds - six of them individual, and claimed a national college title in the US.
