Frosty festive shakes
Wow your little ones this Christmas by whipping up the milkshake of champions!
Makes 4Prep: 10 minutes
Ingredients:80g chocolate and vanilla cream cookies200g vanilla ice cream800ml whole milk2 mince pies3-4 ice cubes1 can spray creamJar caramel sauceMini mince pies for decoration
Toppings:
Take your pick from the following:
Candy cane marshmallow pops - take a small candy cane, dip in melted chocolate, then push into the centre of each marshmallow. Half dipped the marshmallows in melted chocolate, then crushed candy canes.
Long candy canes
White and dark chocolate shavings
Pretzels
Marshmallows dipped in chocolate and festive sprinkles
Christmas straws, to serve
Method:
Drizzle some caramel sauce inside the glasses in a random fashion then set aside
In a large blender blitz the cookies into crumbs. Remove a small amount for sprinkling on the finished shake. Add in the milk, ice cream, mince pies, ice and caramel sauce then blitz up until light and frothy. Add a little more milk to get desired consistency.
Pour into the glasses then top with spray cream, sprinkle over the reserved biscuit. Top as high as you dare with a selection of toppings of your choice. Drizzle over some more caramel sauce then pop in a couple of straws and enjoy.
Santa’s Tip: For a different shake, swap out the mince pies for a few chocolate brownies, a slice of yule log or any chocolate cake or Christmas cake.Make the Festive shakes as fun as you like, add all or a selection of toppings, using any Christmas goodies you have available.
