Maxine's workout plan
When it comes to losing weight, exercise is always the hardest thing to do. But it's essential to any weight loss plan so that's why when it comes to Vow to Wow, food and fitness go hand in hand.
So make sure you read all the information before you start. Good Luck!
Getting started
Download the following charts for each week of the plan you do, stick them on your fridge (next to your diet chart from Sally) and fill them in by doing the exercises at the bottom of this page.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows your skin to breathe. If you are exercising on carpet DO NOT WEAR TRAINERS. If you have no carpet then make sure you wear a good pair of supportive training shoes for your workout.
Ladies - always wear a supportive sports bra – no matter what size you are, you need to support them
Aim to eat a small meal at least two hours before you begin, or a snack like a banana or apple 20 minutes before
Drink water before, during and after your workouts. But make sure you sip it, don’t gulp it down.
If you are new to exercise, make sure you gradually build up your workouts over time
This plan is designed for healthy adults, so if you have any health concerns you must consult with your doctor. We always advise that you should consult your doctor before embarking on an exercise regime.
If you are pregnant or recently had a baby you need to keep your intensity low and should always consult with a doctor
Lastly - you know your body better than anyone. So listen to what it is telling you.
If you feel any pain while working out - STOP!
If you feel achy in your muscles the following day after a workout – take it easier on the next day - look at some of the easier workout options
During my workouts I offer tips on alternative way to do a move if you have joint pains. Look out for them.
The workout
To maintain a healthy weight-loss you must partake in some kind of cardio activity five times a week for at least 30 minutes a day.
In our Vow to Wow plan we say pick seven of your favourite songs to work out to. Then select seven workouts to do (these must include the warm up and cool down) and before you know it you will be shimmying into shape!
It’s always important to do a WARM UP before workouts and a COOL DOWN afterwards.
If you think about it seven songs three to five times a week is not a big commitment. And if you dance and sing along (if you can) while you do it the time will fly past.
So whether you are working on your bum, tum, arms, waist or legs we’ve got a workout for you.
