Church opens doors to remember man who died in chimney tragedy

St James Church, in Denton Holme, will open its doors today, November 11, from 6pm to 8pm to remember Phil Longcake, the Carlisle man who died on Dixon's Chimney.

A book of condolence and candles will be available for those wanting to pay tribute to him.

The family of Phil Longcake launched an appeal asking people to donate to the mental health charity Mind after his death on Monday 28 October. Mr Longcake had been suffering mental health difficulties prior to the incident.

So far the appeal has raised more than £13,000.
