Three more hospital patients die with coronavirus in the Anglia region

A further three Covid-19 patients have died in hospitals in the Anglia region according to daily figures released by NHS England.

The patients died at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage and Southend Hospital in Essex.

It follows five deaths reported in the area on Thursday and a further five on Wednesday.

The total number of patients dying in the hospitals in the Anglia region has now reached 4,087 and the total number of deaths in all settings, including care home, hospices and in the community as well as in hospitals is 5,876.

The total figure includes people who have died without a positive test for Covid-19 but where the condition was mentioned on death certificates.



As of 5pm on Thursday, 44,650 have died across all settings from those tested positive for coronavirus in the UK.

The figures, from the Department of Health and Social Care, do not include all deaths involving Covid-19 across the UK, which are thought to have passed 55,000 according to Office for National Statistics data.
