Five more hospital patients die with coronavirus in the Anglia region
A further five Covid-19 patients have died in hospitals in the Anglia region according to daily figures released by NHS England.
It follows three deaths reported in the area on Tuesday and two on Monday.
The total number of patients dying in the hospitals in the Anglia region has now reached 4,079 and the total number of deaths in all settings, including care home, hospices and in the community as well as hospitals is 5,868.
Two patients died in Bedford Hospital on 4th and 6th July and one patient died at Northampton General on 5th July.
Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire are the two counties in the Anglia region with the highest death rates. There have also been concerns among health officials that the infection rate in both places was not falling as fast as other parts of the country.

In the past week, nearly 400 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed with positive tests in the Anglia region.
In some parts of the region, new infections are rising twice as fast as the national average of 1.2%.
There have been 87 new cases in a week in Bedfordshire, which includes the unitary areas of Bedford, Central Bedfordshire and Luton. There have also been 80 new cases in Northamptonshire - an increase of nearly 3%.
A further 69 positive tests were recorded in Cambridgeshire of which 44 were in Peterborough, which represents as rise of 3.5%.
Essex saw 69 additional cases during the past seven days, there were 54 more in Hertfordshire, 7 in Milton Keynes, 20 in Suffolk and 9 in Norfolk.
