Warming mulled cider
With only a few days to go until Christmas the party season is well and truly upon us - so what better way to get the party started than a warming mulled cider?
Recipe2 litres good quality dry cider1 stick cinnamon2 star anise8-10 cloves2 small orangesSmall piece fresh ginger peeled and sliced3-4 tbs sugar or to taste
Method1. Pour the cider into a large pan and bring up to a simmer, squeeze in the juice of one of the oranges then stud the second one with the cloves and place into the cider along with the ginger, star anise, cinnamon stick and sugar, then cover with a lid and warm gently for at least an hour before serving.
