Documentary discovers the life of Marlon Brando

Rebecca Brando, the daughter of one of the greatest 20th century actors Marlon Brando, joins us to talk about her father's fascinating film 'Listen to me Marlon' uncovering the audio diary he kept with more than 200 hours of recordings.

Brando's own voice leads the storytelling - there are no interviewees, no talking heads, just Marlon guiding us into the padlocked recesses of his own memory and through the story of his life. Listen to me Marlon has been made with over 200 hours of never-heard-before audio tapes.

Unheard audio tapes reveal witty and unexpected turns of Marlon's thinking: dipping between light and dark, humour and self psychoanalysis.

To some he is the indelible star of A Streetcar Named Desire and Apocalypse Now, the most powerful screen actor who ever lived; to others, an overweight recluse shrouded in intrigue until his death in 2004. But to Rebecca, 49, a clinical psychologist, he was simply her father.

When Rebecca Brando first saw the new documentary about her father, she walked out.
