Fay Ripley's nuggets of deliciousness

Christmas is just around the corner, which means it's time to indulge! Treat yourself with a batch of Fay's homemade festive biscuits.

Makes 25-30

Ingredients:100g whole blanched hazelnuts100g ground almonds150g plain flour60g golden caster sugar150g butter, softened⅓ of a 400g jar Nutella

Method1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (fan), 200 degrees, gas mark 6. Line two baking trays with baking parchment. Spread the hazelnuts on a roasting tray and bung in the oven for 8-10 minutes, or till lightly golden. Leave to cool slightly, then blitz the nuts in a food processor into fine crumbs.2. Add the almonds, flour, sugar and butter to the food processor and whizz till it all comes together.3. Roll little teaspoon-sized amounts of the mixture into your hands to make balls of dough the size of large marbles. Slightly flatten, then space out on the baking trays and bake for 15-20 minutes.4. Cool completely on the trays then sandwich them together with a blob of Nutella. Store in the fridge and take out shortly before serving.
