Samuel L Jackson says listen up about male cancer
Today we're launching our very special Male Cancer Week in conjunction with Hollywood superstar Samuel L Jackson's One for the Boys campaign.
You may be wondering why we need a Male Cancer Awareness Week. Well, when Hollywood superstar Samuel L Jackson called up This Morning and suggested we team up with his One for the Boys campaign to promote awareness of male orientated cancers, we thought the idea made perfect sense!And why? Let’s face it, men can be a bit rubbish about their health, not popping to the doctors as much as women do. So who better to nudge them in the right direction than Mr Samuel L Jackson himself! Remember thatspeech from Pulp Fiction? Well he’s like that in real life (without the gratuitous violence and swearing) – so pay attention!
Oh and ladies out there, you have a job to play too. If your bloke is a bit wimpy about the doctors, you need to keep nagging at him until he goes. If the nagging doesn’t work, Samuel suggests withdrawing privileges... you know - those kinds of privileges... until he gets himself checked!

To kick off Male Cancer Week, Phillip and Samuel visit a male cancer ward at the world-famous Royal Marsden Hospital in London. They talk to staff and patients who have had, and are currently undergoing, cancer treatment, including Mark, who on the day we met him was celebrating the first anniversary of his successful surgery at the hospital. Despite ignoring the warning signs his body was sending him for FOUR years, Mark finally got treated for prostate cancer and is now in remission - all because his wife nagged him until he got himself checked.
