The Limbless Mountaineer
I didn't think life would be worth living again
In January 1999 mountaineer Jamie Andrew and his best friend and climbing partner Jamie Fisher attempted to climb mountain Les Droites in the French Alps with tragic results.
After completing the north face of the mountain the friends were stranded for five days in a terrible storm, with temperatures plummeting to minus 30 degrees. Sadly their rescue came too late for Jamie Fisher who died of hyperthermia. Jamie Andrew survived but he suffered such severe frostbite that his lower arms and legs had to be amputated.
A new documentary The Limbless Mountaineer follows Jamie's inspirational story and his latest challenge - to climb the 14,692ft high Matterhorn mountain in the Pennine Alps on the border between Switzerland and Italy.
But will father of three Jamie risk everything again to reach the summit?
