Professor James Logan's tips to spider-proof your home
They can walk on water, weave webs the size of pizzas, and eat anything from dragonflies to fish - the UK’s largest breed of spider is multiplying. Could these eight-legged visitors creep closer to our homes this spider mating season? Professor James Logan is on hand to help us spider-proof your home with his tips and tricks.
WHAT CAN WE DO TO PREVENT THEM FROM COMING IN ALTOGETHER?:
1. DECLUTTER: Spiders are attracted to clutter as it gives them a safe place to hide. By dusting away the webs they have taken hours to make, you are telling them they are not welcome.
2. ESSENTIAL OILS: You could make or buy a water mix or essential oils of lemon and peppermint. It’s not massively effective but has been proven to keep them at bay.
3. SEAL ANY CRACKS AND HOLES: If you have any cracks in your skirting or floorboards, now is the time to seal them up.
