BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT 2024 SEMI-FINALS AND FINAL: VOTING TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Voting method and cost:
Viewers in the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man may vote for which act(s) they wish to keep in the competition on the Britain’s Got Talent 2024 programme (the ‘Programme’) by the following methods:
PRTS Phone – dial the premium rate ‘09’ telephone number for the chosen act(s) as displayed in the Programme and listen to the recorded message which confirms the vote. Each PRTS Phone vote costs 50 pence plus your network’s access charge. The total cost will be dependent on your network operator. The promoter and producers of the programme recommend that for the most up to date charges viewers enquire directly with their mobile network operator. Viewers can find out more information about access charges by visiting https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/advice-for-consumers/costs-and-billing/how-much-does-a-phone-call-really-cost but the Promoter and producers of the Programme recommend that for the most up to date charges viewers enquire directly with their mobile network operator.
Mobile short dial codes (“MSDC”) (also known as voice short codes) – UK mobile users dial the 7 digit number which is the MSDC for the chosen act(s) as displayed in the Programme and listen to the recorded message which confirms the MSDC vote. Each vote via a UK mobile to a MSDC costs 50 pence. MSDC voting is only available from a mobile phone. It is not possible to vote by calling the MSDCs from a landline or via any other method. Call charges may apply if the number mis-dialled is a valid number. Neither the Promoter nor the producers of the Programme give any warranty that the MSDC service will be available, legal or appropriate for use in locations outside the UK.
Online: go to www.itv.com/vote or www.stv.tv/vote (the “website”) and follow the instructions there. You will be required to register on the website before being able to vote. You can find more information about how to register here. Up to a maximum of five (5) votes per registered mobile number. There is no charge when voting via the website, although internet service provider’s fees may apply when you access the internet. Each voting window will close as indicated in the Programme. Any votes unused by the end of each voting window will be lost and cannot be claimed for use in the next voting window. More information about online voting is available at https://www.itv.com/terms/articles/britains-got-talent-voting-faqs.
15 pence from each phone vote (via PRTS Phone or MSDC) goes to the Royal Variety Charity.
If there are technical or other issues with the PRTS Phone, MSDC, or online votes, the Promoter and the producers of the Programme reserve the right to discount the PRTS Phone, MSDC or online votes (as applicable) and announce the result of the vote without including those affected votes.
The Promoter is not responsible for any vote services promoted outside the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man as these are not within their control. Votes must not be sent in through agents or on behalf of another person, and viewers cannot submit votes as an agent of any other person. The Promoter and the Programme producers reserve the right to discount votes if they have reasonable grounds to suspect they have been made from outside the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man, from unofficial third-party voting services or otherwise in breach of these terms and conditions.
If for any reason there is a discrepancy between the PRTS Phone numbers or MSDC numbers advertised on air and those given on any other platforms then the numbers on air will prevail and the vote shall proceed on that basis.
Please note it is not possible to vote via any method not stated in these terms and conditions.
Opening/closing times
Voting will open and close in each show as specified in the Programme.
Voting restrictions
Viewers voting on the website are limited to five (5) votes per registered mobile number per voting window. Viewers voting via PRTS Phone or MSDC may vote as many times as they like, however the Promoter and the producers of the Programme believe that any votes for one (1) act which are received from any one (1) recognised number on these platforms in excess of six hundred (600) votes are deemed to be designed to manipulate the outcome of the vote and are unfair to other users and other acts. On the PRTS Phone or MSDC platforms (where it is not technically practical to limit the votes) if a viewer votes more than 600 times for one act, the Promoter and the Programme producers reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any votes made above the permitted levels having regard to all the circumstances and information available at the relevant time. The Promoter and/or the Programme producers may in their sole discretion contact voters who have voted through the PRTS Phone or MSDC platforms to an excessive level.
Voting results
Semi-Final shows:
The outcome of the judge vote and public vote (as defined below) will be shown at the end of each Semi-Final show.
During each Semi-Final show, eight (8) acts will perform. Two (2) acts from each Semi-Final show will be sent to the Final of the Programme as follows:
the eight (8) acts will be put to the public vote. The three (3) top acts will be revealed, and the act with the highest number of public votes will proceed to the Final show ("public vote").
the judges will then vote for the act they wish to see in the Final between the 2nd and 3rd top act with the most public votes ("judge vote"). In the event that the judges’ vote results in a tie, the act with the most public votes will proceed to the Final.
In the event of a tie in the public vote at any stage of the competition, the judges' decision will determine which act(s) stay or leave or win (as applicable) the competition. In the event of a tie in the public vote to determine who will win Britain’s Got Talent 2024, the judges’ decision will determine the winner. In the event that the judges’ votes are tied at any stage of the competition the nominated head judge will have the deciding vote. The judges’ decision will be final.
The producers of the Programme and/or judges may in their discretion reintroduce an act seen in earlier stages of the competition which was previously eliminated by the judges.
The judges may, in their sole discretion, nominate a Semi-Final act to appear in the Final as a 'wildcard' act. The nominated wildcard act may be any act that previously performed across the Semi-Final shows. The Programme producers' and/or judges' decision will be final.
Final:
During the Final show of the Programme, the act with the most valid votes will be declared the winner of the competition.
Any variation on the format of elimination as set out in these terms and conditions will be announced in the Programme and such format as announced in the Programme will prevail.
Contingencies:
If any of the acts are unable to perform or are prevented from performing fully in the Programme for any reason including without limitation medical reasons, then the producers of the Programme will in their sole discretion decide whether that act will continue in the competition; to end their participation in the competition; suspend their participation temporarily; play in the dress rehearsal footage in substitution of a live performance or ask that the act re-perform having regard to all circumstances and information available to them at the relevant time. The producers of the Programme will in their sole discretion determine if another act may be allowed to enter the competition.
If the outcome of a vote cannot be reasonably determined because of a technical failure or other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the producers of the Programme, their agents or sub-contractors, then the judges’ decision will determine the outcome. The judges’ decision will be final.
If the vote is cancelled then the judges will decide on the outcome of the vote, or the vote will be postponed at the Promoter’s and Programme producers’ discretion. Any decision by the judges or by the Promoter and Programme producers will be final.
