Historic Devon inn named Great British Pub of the Year
The Cott Inn near Dartington has been crowned the best in the country at the Great British Pub Awards. It was up against almost 1,000 other pubs in the competition held by the industry's trade magazine, The Morning Advertiser.
Judges said the historic pub - which was first licensed back in 1320 - impressed them with its blend of the ancient and the modern. They said it was an impressive operation offering everything from great food and drinks, to fantastic accommodation in a beautiful setting.
The pub industry is going through difficult times so it's good to have such a success story.
