Counting the cost: the people of Coverack face the flood damage
The villagers of Coverack are facing day one of a massive clean up operation after a flash flood tore through their home.
The first focus was getting people to safety - and emergency services from across the Lizard Peninsula turned out to make sure there were no casualties.
The people of Coverack made it through the flood unharmed. Now, they're left to count the cost of the damage.
"That's where our greenhouse used to be - it's down on the beach"
Half of Mary's patio disappeared into the river as the sudden torrent of water swelled in its bank.
She says she still doesn't know where her gran will be able to stay, as her current flat is no longer safe.
"Loads of people have turned up from all over offering help"
Fran Lane is the minister of the Lizard area - she says everyone will work together to bring the village through the crisis.
She's been spending the day helping to clear out a shop which has been "completely devastated" by the flood water.
"We just couldn't believe the amount of water - the river had gone beserk!"
Clare Tongue knows the elderly couple who needed to be airlifted to safety - she says the devastation wrecked on the main road has cut the village in half.
The family car is currently stuck and they don't think they'll be able to get it out for weeks.
