Rescues ongoing as emergency services fight flash flood
Emergency services from across the Lizard Peninsula are in the village of Coverack where a flash flood hit this afternoon.
At least two people have been airlifted to safety as the waters rose around their home.
This photo by Peter Wood shows firefighters trying to clear debris from the sea wall:
The main route in and out of the village has been badly damaged by surface water.
Emergency services are pleading with people on social media to help them help others, by not driving through flood water - it risks people getting stuck and requiring rescue.
