Wales remembers key workers who have died from coronavirus
Twelve Welsh key workers who have lost their lives in the coronavirus pandemic have been remembered as part of a national one minute's silence.
At 11am on Tuesday 28 April, people across the UK paused for a minute in tribute to the sacrifice made by those on the front line, in roles ranging from doctors and nurses to carers, cleaners, porters and bus drivers.
Those observing the silence included First Minister Mark Drakeford and Health Minister Vaughan Gething.
Jitendra Rathod, one of Wales' leading heart surgeons, is thought to be the first healthcare worker in Wales to die following a Covid-19 diagnosis. He died on Monday 6 April at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
The twelve Welsh key workers who have lost their lives:
Leilani Medel: A nurse in Bridgend
Gareth Roberts: Bank nurse for Cardiff & Vale UHB

Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who has just returned to work after recovering from Covid-19, joined the country-wide commemoration, which the Unison union, the Royal College of Midwives and the Royal of College of Nursing had campaigned for.
Others around Wales also paused to observe the silence.
