Nurse becomes second confirmed health worker in Wales to die from coronavirus
Tributes have been paid to nurse Gareth Roberts after he died following a positive test for Covid-19.
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board said Mr Roberts passed away at the Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil.
He is the second confirmed health worker in Wales to die following a Covid-19 diagnosis after leading heart surgeon Jitendra Rathod died on Monday.
In a statement, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board said: "Gareth had been part of our nursing family since the 1980's and worked across our hospital sites."
It added "Gareth was well known by everyone and was an extremely popular, fun-filled and well liked person, always greeting everyone with - 'Hello Cariad' when he saw them."
Mr Roberts is survived by his wife, son and grandson.
It comes as Public Health Wales announced a further 36 people in Wales have died after testing positive for coronavirus bringing the total number of deaths to 351.
Royal College of Nursing Wales said it's "devastating to lose one of our nursing professionals in this manner."
