Welsh legend Dame Shirley Bassey celebrates 80th birthday

Welsh legend Dame Shirley Bassey is celebrating her 80th birthday today.

The Cardiff-born singer has enjoyed a glittering 60-year career. She is most famous for recording theme songs to James Bond films including Goldfinger (1964) and Diamonds Are Forever (1971) - which she performed for the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations.

She has also worked with other musical legends including Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra.

Dame Shirley recently spoke candidly about how she struggled with singing after the death of her daughter in 1985.

Over her lengthy career, she has created 35 studio albums and sold more than 135 million records.
