Durham Cathedral to get £1million in heritage funding

Durham Cathedral has been awarded one million pounds towards it's target of raising ten million pounds.

They're aiming to reach their fundraising target by 2020, with the money being spent on repairs to the World Heritage site.Earlier this year Durham was voted as the UK's favourite cathedral.

The cathedral has done lots to fundraise towards restoration work and it's upkeep including building a Lego Cathedral out of individual bricks paid for by the public.
