Durham Cathedral voted as favourite for a third time
Durham Cathedral has been crowned the UK’s most popular Cathedral, the third national accolade awarded to Durham Cathedral in just two months.
In February 2017, Durham Cathedral was voted as Britain’s Favourite Cathedral in the LandLove Magazine Awards, followed by the announcement that Durham Cathedral had been crowned Countryfile Magazine’s Heritage Site of the Year.
Now, Durham Cathedral has beaten off stiff competition from 12 other Cathedrals to be named the UK’s most popular Cathedral in an online competition organised by HolidayLettings.
With 36% of the vote, Durham Cathedral bagged the top spot followed by Lincoln Cathedral and Lichfield Cathedral in 3rd place
Overall, 13,799 votes were cast for Durham Cathedral.
