The sheep has now been named 'Fiona' by a group of five farmers.

All of the animals were found with emaciated with extremely matted fur. They were in such a poor physical state vets couldn't tell if they were male or female.

An officer on the force was travelling home on Wednesday evening when he was involved in a rescue operation.
