The organisers of Portsmouth's Great South Run have announced that this year's event has been cancelled due to the weather.

A two-day festival of running includes mini runs and the famous ten-mile race on Sunday.

A new deal has been agreed between the organisers and the city council to secure the future of the popular event in Portsmouth.

The pandemic has of course dealt so many sporting events a real blow, and many have not been able to take place at all. One is the Great South Run.

NHS workers across the south are being encouraged to take better care of their physical and mental wellbeing.

Around 20,000 runners of all abilities took part in the 10 mile Great South Run in Portsmouth. 

Runners of all ages and even dogs are taking part in the South's biggest running event in a bid to raise money for charities.
