Tens of thousands of runners take on the Great South Run

Around 20,000 runners descended onto Portsmouth on Sunday for this years Great South Run.

People of all abilities gathered for the 29th event in the city to run 10 miles for their chosen charity.

Lizzy Yarnold, the most decorated British Winter Olympian of all time, was at the start line to get the race underway.

Next year, the event will celebrate its 30th year and will take place on Sunday 20th October 2019.
