A treasured Carlisle United scarf stored at Tullie has been reunited with a fan in hope its return will improve team performances.

Carlisle United owner Tom Piatak says he sacked Paul Simpson with the aim "to save the season" as they look to bounce back to League One football.

Carlisle-born Simpson has left the club with "immediate effect" after the Blues suffered a 2 - 1 home defeat on Saturday.
