The Covid-19 fines were given after four people travelled from Bristol to Brean beach, near Weston-super-Mare for exercise.

A pair of kayakers were rescued by hovercraft after being pulled half a mile offshore. 

At one point the car was completely submerged and only its roof was visible from the shore.

A car had to be towed from the mud after it was engulfed by the incoming tide on Brean beach.

Members are 'devastated' and said it will cost thousands to repair.
