Staff at Plantasia Tropical Zoo said it's important the pheasant is returned "as soon as possible" as it is a non-native bird.

The skylark is one of the Britain's fastest declining bird species but its numbers in Jersey have grown since the survey started in 2006.

There are fewer than 50 pairs of British black-tailed godwits left in the wild, says a wildlife trust, and they rely on a handful of wetland sites to breed.
