Starling befriends Sussex family after they rescue him
A family from West Sussex has befriended a bird after they saved it from their cat.
The baby Starling, named Simon, is now a regular visitor to their garden.
Georgina Edge, from Henfield, rescued Simon and another Starling.
With no sign of the parents, the family fed the nestlings for a couple of weeks.
Simon now comes when he's called and Georgina said he's "quite tame".
Georgina Edge and her children:
The general advice is to leave baby birds alone unless they're in immediate danger, as Simon was.
Georgina said he is now becoming more independent and is visiting less.
She said: "We see him flying around with some other Starlings, which we think are his brothers and sisters from the nest he should have been in."
