Protest over access to Peterloo Massacre memorial statue
A demonstration's taking place in Manchester later over disabled access to a new memorial to the victims of the Peterloo Massacre.
The memorial has been designed by artist Jeremy Deller and is made up of concentric circles placed like steps, with visitors invited to climb to the top as if it is a platform for people to give speeches.
However, campaigners have criticised the design for failing to acknowledge people with disabilities who would not be able to make it up the steps to top of the structure.
Manchester City Council say significant changes have already been made in response to concerns.
Its 200 years since armed cavalry charged a crowd of 60,000 people who'd gathered to listen to pro-democracy speeches.
