DFDS Seaways has published provisional summer schedules for Jersey between St Malo, Portsmouth, and Poole.

The Danish ferry company say they are still finalising the full schedule with departure and arrival times for all routes.

In the meantime, they have produced provisional timetables for the three ports to give an idea of what summer timetables will look like.

Chris Parker, Jersey's route director from DFDS, says: "We appreciate that everyone is keen to learn about the schedules, and we are working to get this done as quickly as possible.

"Our focus is to get the schedules right and we want to make sure that we consider all the diverse needs of the island for both passenger and freight transport, as well as the operational dependencies of the ports we serve."

The provisional summer timetable between Jersey and Poole shows how ferries will operate over a 14-day period.

On a typical sailing day, the ferry will leave Poole in the morning, arrive in Jersey at around noon, leave Jersey in the afternoon, and return to Poole by the evening.

There will be no sailing on four days, including the first Tuesday, the second Monday, and both Thursdays.

The provisional timetable for St Malo is also over a 14-day period.

Every day has a sailing scheduled, with one sailing on Monday through to Thursday.

Those sailings leave from St Malo to Jersey in the morning and return in the afternoon.

On Fridays, three sailings are scheduled, with two sailings scheduled on both Saturdays and Sundays.

DFDS has also named some of the vessels which will serve the Channel Islands.

The first to be announced was the Stena Vinga which will service the route between Jersey and Portsmouth.

Following this, two high-speed crafts were announced, which are both equipped with premium lounges, onboard shopping, and cafeterias.

The Tarifa Jet can carry more than 750 passengers aboard and take on 175 vehicles. It was built in 1997.

The Levante Jet is a bit younger, being built in 2015. It can carry 675 passengers, 151 vehicles, and up to 330 linear metres of cargo.

Chris Parker says: "We look forward to introducing these two high-speed crafts to Jersey.

"They are state-of-the-art vessels that will enhance the travel experience but also play a crucial role in supporting local tourism.

"By reducing travel time and increasing accessibility, the aim is to attract more visitors to beautiful destinations in Jersey, as well as in France and the UK".
