DFDS Seaways has confirmed which vessel will operate the route between Jersey and Portsmouth.

Stena Vinga will carry both freight and passengers from 28 March 2025, with five rotations per week in peak seasons.

The 125-meter-long vessel can carry up to 400 passengers and 200 cars and has a freight capacity of 1500 (lm).

Stena Vinga is equipped with 40 cabins, a restaurant, a duty-free shop, a cinema and a recliner lounge.

Chris Parker, route director Jersey for DFDS, says: "With this vessel, we will be able to service both passengers and businesses who rely on freight transport and enable us to provide an efficient and reliable service.

"It was refurbished in 2019, and we look forward to welcoming passengers aboard and providing them with a comfortable travel experience and meeting the diverse needs of the island."

DFDS has confirmed that the summer timetable is expected to be published by Friday 20 December.
