All Jersey students start returning to school
All primary and secondary students have begun to return to school in Jersey.
Pupils will initially be staggered but it is hoped primary pupils will be back full time by the end of the month.
It follows the first phase of the safe return to school announcement two weeks ago, when those in year six, 10 and 12 returned on a reduced timetable.
From Monday (22 June), all primary school year groups - from nursery to year six - will attend on specified days throughout the week.
Due to the different physical distancing guidelines for secondary schools of one metre, students will need to return in smaller than class size groups as they make their phased return.
Education Minister, Tracey Vallois, says the year groups in transition - nine to 12 - are likely to return first, and that arrangements will also be made for those in years 11 and 13 who are leaving school.
This specific order and frequency of the above will be decided by each individual school.

Students, parents and teachers welcome return to the classroom
Special schools making individual appropriate arrangements given challenges around physical distancing and greater number of adults working together.
Private nurseries, childminders and nannies will also be able to welcome back more children, in accordance with public health guidelines.
The Minister’s decision is supported by medical advice from the Scientific and Technical Advisory Cell (STAC), which states that all students should return to school as soon as practicable, and that a two metre physical distance and a 20-person limit no longer needs to be enforced in a school environment.
