Staycation website gets over 12,000 visits in its first week

A new staycation website for people in the Bailiwick of Guernsey has been visited 12,000 times in its first week.

The Staycation Club hopes people holidaying in the islands could be one way to restart the touristeconomy.

On its website is says "as summer approaches and we emerge from lockdown, a sense of positivity is creeping across the Bailiwick".

It comes as an end to social distancing has been announced due to Guernsey's moves into phase five of its lockdown exit.

Sailings to Herm started up again on Tuesday 9 June, with Travel Trident now operating three return sailing to the island each day.

Sark welcomed its first visitors from Guernsey a week earlier, when it lifted its border restrictions to islanders from across the Bailiwick.
