Teenager arrested for vandalising wreath at Guernsey War Memorial
A 19-year-old man has been arrested for vandalising a wreath laid by the outgoing Bailiff at the War Memorial in St Peter Port.
Sir Richard Collas, who retired from his duties at the weekend (9-10 May), laid the flowers at the memorial as part of the Liberation Day celebrations.
Guernsey Police say inquiries are ongoing and are calling on anyone with information to come forward.
The laying of the flowers, at the memorial at the top of Smith Street, was one of the last acts of Sir Richard as Bailiff.
Anyone with further details of the incident is asked to call 01481 725111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
