Guernsey's new Bailiff to be sworn in

Guernsey's 90th Bailiff is being sworn in at the Royal Court House today.

Richard McMahon will replace Sir Richard Collas, as he retires after eight years of service.

Mr McMahon studied law in London and France, before becoming an English Barrister in 1986.

He then became a Guernsey Barrister in 1998, and the Deputy Bailiff of Guernsey in 2012.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, an audience will not be permitted inside the Royal Court building.

Instead, you can watch the swearing in through a live feed at 2:30pm by clicking here.

Other events which had also been planned to mark the occasion will not take place.
