People in Jersey to clap for frontline workers fighting coronavirus
People in Jersey are being encouraged to show their appreciation for those working to fight the coronavirus.
Islanders are being invited to clap from their doorsteps and balconies to show support for healthcare workers on the frontline.
The one-minute clap will start at 8pm.
It comes after people took to their windows and balconies across Europe to applaud medical staff for their work during the coronavirus outbreak.
Footage from Spain, Portugal and Italy shows individuals in apartment blocks clapping and cheering in a show of support for doctors and nurses working through the crisis.
The tributes came following calls on Spanish social media for people to express their appreciation to the country's medical professionals.
