Channel Islands athletes get Super League Triathlon wildcards

Guernsey's Josh Lewis and Jersey's Ollie Turner will go head-to-head with each other, and some of the best athletes in the world, after being given wildcards to race at Super League Triathlon Jersey next month.

The pair, who train together, both finished on the podium at this summer's NatWest International Island Games in Gibraltar but will find themselves among a world-class field at the event, which is being staged in St Helier for a third year.

Turner qualified for the whole series last year, which condenses the sport into spectator-friendly formats, while Lewis will make his debut after competing in the corporate races last year.

Super League Triathlon Jersey takes place over the weekend of 28-29 September with qualifying races on Saturday ahead of the men's and women's championship events on the Sunday.
