Guernsey and Jersey take triathlon spoils
Guernsey’s Josh Lewis took gold ahead of his good friend and training partner, Ollie Turner, in the men’s triathlon.
Turner had to settle for bronze but Jersey claimed the team gold overall with Guernsey getting silver.
Lewis and Turner were neck and neck at the final transition but Lewis pulled away on the run to secure a comfortable victory.
In the women’s event, Guernsey’s Megan Chapple finished an impressive second, helping her team to gold.
For Jersey, Mel Messervy-Gross was their fastest finisher in fifth, while Jo Gorrod was sixth and Clare Forbes - a late replacement - came seventh to help the team to a silver medal.
