New members of key committees appointed in the Guernsey States
Today's States meeting in Guernsey began with the appointment of deputies to fill gaps on some of the government's key committees.
Ahead of the big education debate deputies dealt with the business of electing members to The Committee for Economic Development, The Committee for Education, Sport and Culture and The Committee for Health and Social Care.
The two new members joining Economic Development are Deputies Dawn Tindall and David de Lisle.
Economic Development had two places to fill after it's Vice President Deputy Jan Kuttelwascher stepped down in December and Deputy Jennifer Merrett resigned last week.
Deputy Charles Parkinson was elected as the new president of Economic Development in December after Deputy Peter Ferbrache stepped down from the role.
Today, both Deputies Parkinson and Ferbrache nominated deputies to fill the two spaces on the committee.

After a vote, Deputies Tindall and De Lisle were elected.
The new member of Education, Sport and Culture is Deputy Lester Queripel after he was proposed by the President of Education, Deputy Le Pelley uncontested.
The new member of Health and Social Care is Deputy Tindall after she was proposed by the President of Health and Social Care, Deputy Soulsby uncontested.
