Deputy Jennifer Merrett has announced her resignation from Guernsey's Committee for Economic Development.

Deputy Merrett said she has chosen to step down before the January debate to give the States the opportunity to replace her.

The reason for her resignation has not been released but Deputy Merrett says she is grateful for her time with the committee.

Deputy Merrett is the third politician to leave the committee in the last two months.

Her departure follows the resignation of Deputy Ferbrache as President of the Economic Development in November and Deputy Kuttelwascher as Vice-President in December.
