Politicians in Jersey are meeting later to discuss the findings of the Independent Care Inquiry.

The three year probe found island authorities failed children in care, with systemic abuse taking place in States managed care homes over several decades.

The Chief Minister, Senator Ian Gorst, has arranged the special States sitting to discuss the report in depth.

Jersey's States Assembly met as scheduled on Tuesday, the day after the final report of the Jersey Care Inquiry was published.

Although not specifically arranged to discuss the investigation, many members did use the sitting as an opportunity to quiz fellow politicians on some of its findings.

ITV News asked politicians for their initial reaction to the conclusions when they arrived in the Royal Square on Tuesday morning.
