Donald Trump invited to visit King Richard III after family links discovered
Leicester’s King Richard III Visitor Centre is inviting to President-Elect Donald Trump, to visit the city centre attraction when he visits Her Majesty The Queen next year.
In September 2015 it was discovered that Donald Trump is a distant cousin of King Richard III. Trump is a direct descendant of the 14th century 1st Duke of Lancaster, John of Gaunt, who died in 1399 and was Richard III's great-great uncle.
This link has been confirmed by Professor Kevin Schurer of University of Leicester, who corroborated the genealogical link between Michael Ibsen and Richard III made by Dr John Ashdown-Hill.
With Donald Trump set to visit the UK in summer 2017, Chairman of King Richard III Visitor Centre Board of Trustees Martin Traynor will extend an invitation to the President-Elect to visit Leicester and find out more about the incredible story of King Richard III.
