King Richard III sites named among 'best new places' to see in the world
Three of the sites dedicated to the history of King Richard III in Leicestershire have been included on a list of the best new places across the world to visit.
The King Richard III Visitor Centre, Leicester Cathedral and Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre are mentioned in the Smithsonian’s '21st Century Life List of 25 Great New Places to See'.
The three attractions were ranked twelfth in the list, which also includes glaciers, gorilla habitats and temples.
The list features wonders from across the world and was published in the September issue of the magazine.
The Visitor Centre was mentioned earlier this year in the Lonely Planet Guide's top world-wide 'must visit places' in 2015.
Bosworth Battlefield's Heritage Centre has also seen a 10% rise in visitors this year.
