It is feared people flooded in Lincolnshire may not be able to return to their homes for another day - with more heavy rain forecast.

Floods minister Therese Coffey saw first hand the devastation caused by the floods in Wainfleet.

Nearly 600 homes have been evacuated since the River Steeping burst its banks last Wednesday.

Lincolnshire Police said around 350 tonnes of sand and ballast were dropped in the area by RAF Chinook helicopters over the weekend.

Despite the predicted rainfall in Wainfleet, the Environment Agency said it is"ready to act as needed" if more flooding hits the town.
